2 more Darryl Strawberry cards

acardman, from Sportlots, sent me these two cards when I sent him some cold hard electronic transfer cash. They are 1997 Ultra, Card #106 and 1998 Pacific Revolution, Card #103.

Batting practice shots are a lot like spring training shots, often. The saving grave of this card for me is the cursive script/font of Strawberry's name and the banner-like-thing beneath.

The late 1990s must have been a weird time for baseball as it's when designs started getting wicked technological and funky. This card looks fine in person but scans badly.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I always liked Revolution. Pacific made some ugly/amazing cards.

  2. That Ultra design is my favorite, ever. It was used across 5 sports and it looks great in all of them.

    1. I didn't realize that but after looking them up: you're absolutely right!

  3. Okay. When are we gonna start seeing Darryl in his Mets jersey again? Even a Dodgers Strawberry would be a pleasant sight. Can you feel the animosity I have towards the Yankees? Lol... it's only gonna get worse if they win the World Series this year.

    1. You raise a good point and I'll try to do a Mets post this week. I'm not sure that I have any "new" cards to show off that are Mets related. But I will do something, I promise!
