2 by 2 from Mr Carter

I sent Jason over at the Writer's Journey (as well as Handling Aright) some 2018 Topps Reds from a couple of Target boxes I bought. I didn't expect anything in return but I was happy beyond expression nonetheless when he said he could send me a 1991 Baseball Card Magazine card of Darryl Strawberry which I did not have in my collection.

The other day the card showed up, along with Strawberry's 1993 Donruss card. That's the first set of two alluded to in the title of this post.

The other two things in the parcel were to unopened cellophane wrapped packs of Donruss' Baseball Champions Yesterday & Today from 1984. This set has a checklist of 60 cards and in the packs I have the chance to score 10 cards out of the set (that's 1/6th: my math skills are MAD tonight) and some pieces for their Duke Snider puzzle.

The first pack has card 16 Wade Boggs of the Boston Red Sox showing on top; the back is card 41, aka Don Sutton of the Milwaukee Brewers.

The second pack shows card 15 George Brett of the Kansas City Royals on top and Card 40 (that's Tom Seaver of the New York Mets for you laypeople) on the back.

As of right now, I haven't opened them. But this is curious. Showing cards are 15 and 16; back cards are 40 and 41. I wonder if the 3 cards inbetween will also be number neighbors?  There's only one way to find out! And that's in the next Baseball Every Night blog post.

How's that for a cliff hanger?

Thank you Sir Jason!

Thanks for stopping by!
