29 Years Later

I waited 29 years to buy this fucking Fuck Face card.

My scanner, which I like, routinely cuts off one side of the border; in actuality the right side of the card is a little wider.

I was not lucky enough, like Kin, to pull one back in the day, but I got this for about $16 including shipping via COMC. I'm very glad to have it.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I can't lie, I had no idea that these went for that much. I thought it a $2 or so card. Congrats on adding it to your collection. No matter what it's "worth," it's one of the most famous cards for collectors of a certain age range.

    1. I maybe paid too much? Prices seem to generally be between $10 and $20. I think. I'm happy with what I paid for it, though, if only because it filled a long-time want.

    2. I doubt you did...I just haven't paid attention to the going rate on it in like 30 years. :-)

    1. It's a good feeling. I mean, I wish I had pulled one in a pack but this is a fine substitute.

  3. Still on the hunt for my first one of those. I'm also still looking for an '89 UD Griffey.
I think of the most widely known baseball cards of all-time, it's odd that two of them are from the middle of the junk wax era (Ripken FF and Griffey UD rookie). I would put the tobacco card of Honus Wagner and the '52 Mickey Mantle in the Top-5 also.

    1. I did pull the Griffey UD from a pack, so I feel quite lucky in that regard. They are iconic for sure and I agree with the other 2 you named. What's the fifth? Jackie Robinson? Nolan Ryan?

  4. You can eliminate the scanner issue by putting a piece of construction paper or other colored item behind the card and then cropping it. I have more detail in my "How to make your scans look like the cards in hand" tab if you want to give it a try.

    1. Thanks! I did discover this after I had scanned it and was just too lazy to re-do it. Sometimes the scanner still thinks it's a mr smarty-pants, but what it comes down to is my patience, or lack thereof.
