HeavyJ's Strawberry's and more

My Twitter friend Heavyj28 sent me some baseball cards. I bought some vintage cards off him back last year and posted about it in January. I'm thrilled to get more cards from him and need to look into a return package sometime soon.

I was able to get mostly straight scanning ... so here are all the cards. Looks like the back of Rollie Fingers might be leaning up a bit. I'm hardly perfect and this is further evidence of that. But, the cards are perfect. Thanks!

Here we have:

1986 Darryl Strawberry New York Mets Super Fan Club, Card #8
1992 Darryl Strawberry Jimmy Dean, Card #9
1977 Bert Blyleven, Card #630
1977 Rollie Fingers, Card #523
1967 Ron Fairly, Card #94
1991 Frank Thomas, Card #79

The Strawberry's fill in that collection. The Blyleven, Fingers, and Thomas will add to my cards of Hall of Famers; and the Fairly card is a really nice sample of 1967 Topps. It's well centered, with surprisingly square, almost sharp corners, and good coloring. Little dinks here and there; and I can only hope I look this good at 52 years old when and if I hit it in about 7-8 years. Fairly had a fairly long career (21 years) and played for six teams & I think it's fairly safe to say I never heard of him before.

Thanks HeavyJ28!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Ron Fairly played for both the Jays and Expos in their Expansion Years. He was also the Jays' only All Star in 1977.

    1. Thanks for the comment, Mike! I hadn't heard of him and was kind of impressed with his stats.
