Darryl Strawberry: 1990 Fleer Baseball All Stars

Are you a Topps person. Or you a Donruss person? Or are you a Fleer person? Something else. Do you like red wine over white wine? Cats or dogs? These are things that are more divisive than politics and religion.

I'm largely a Topps person. Always have been. Though I obviously dabbled in packs of everything in the 1980s and early 1990s. But one thing I was "pro-" was all the little 44 card or so sets that Fleer was putting out back then. I was a little surprised this card was missing from my collection but it was. So from Sportlots it let someones house and came to mine. The "strawberry" toned color & shading on the card back tickles me senseless.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I like small Fleer sets from the 80s and UD in the 90s. I like this particular design MUCH MUCH more than 89 Fleer but not as intensely as you dislike 95 Fleer.

  2. I's a Stadium Club guy, so I guess I'm Topps. But I prefer a good oddball almost always. Also . . . Red wine over white. Dogs over cats, although we have two cats and zero dogs.

  3. Overall... I'm a Topps guy. But I can appreciate cards from every card company. As for the 44 card Fleer sets, they're awesome. My goal is to chase down every single one of them. I think right now I have about 10, maybe 12 different sets from the 80's and early 90's.

  4. I really like all-star cards but this set was a bit bland. I do like the "strawberry color" tie in on the back. See what you did there. I'm probably a Topps guy but that really is a tough question.

  5. Topps, sparkling wine (no matter the color), and cats! Fun looking set!

  6. Topps, Donruss, Fleer, Pacific, Playoff, Upper Deck, and even Collector's Edge to a point. Love things about all of them. Only ones I'm not big on are Bowman, Tristar, and those Onyx/Hit Parade weirdos.
White wine and definitely dogs. :)
