John Kruk: 1993 Panini Stickers

John Kruk's 1993 Panini Sticker captures the big fella about to smash-annihilate-destroy a single. Maybe.

Is it me or are there more Christmas commercials already? Or are there just the same number but it just feels weird because, well, we're in a weird time?  Are there any Baseball card related things that you're asking for from Santa?

Ladies and gentlemen: Please be safe. Be smart.

This article posted recently. It's on the increase in baseball card collecting during these strange times. My favorite line is "the value of certain cards is skyrocketing."  it's still really cheap to collect quasi-good players. There are three reasons given for the rise in collecting: nostalgia; art; and investment. Do any of these three reasons explain your collecting habits?

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I'm 100% online... so I don't watch commercials unless I'm at my friend's house. And I let her use my Netflix and Hulu accounts, so we're usually watching them (which don't have commercials). As for Santa... haven't asked for anything baseball card related in years, but it's always nice when he surprises me.

    1. I haven't been able, somehow, to wrap my head around being 100% online. I don't, sadly, know how that works! Which is possibly stupid of me.

  2. There are way too many card collecting/investing articles being posted online. I miss the pre-Rona days when save for a few weirdo's, no one gave a sh*t about cards.

  3. Nostalgia and art totally explain my collecting habits since I returned to the hobby a few years ago. And yes, I've noticed a few Christmas commercials already, but I don't mind. Hopefully the spirit of the season will cause people to be nicer to each other for a month or two.

    1. I've always found that the people I interact with in the card community are awesome. I haven't taken to everyone and am sure they haven't all taken to me. Which is fine. Easy enough to ignore. This is supposed to be fun and to make us happy.
