Darryl Strawberry: 2015 Leaf Heroes of Baseball

What could possibly be better than a circa 1980s photograph of Darryl Strawberry at the plate?

Nothing.

I mean look at that stance. I'm sure I've said this before but I bat righty when I hit but that didn't stop me from emulating his batting stance swagger. Oh, is it just delicious.

This is a 2015 Leaf Heroes of Baseball baseball card. This is a 60-card set and includes a veritable who's who of baseball legends from Al Kaline to Johnny Bench to Will Clark.

Taking the text from the back of the card, do you think Strawberry's contributions to the Mets or the Yankees was more impactful in his World Series wins? I'm leaning towards the Mets though I guess he performed well enough with those 90s Yankees.

Great picture on this card, though!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love the design of this set and have a couple of copies of the Billy Williams card. Very cool.
Must be awesome to be a fan of a player who won more than one World Series. I guess it's my own fault for being a Cubs fan. LOL

  2. I forgot he was with the Yankees during their mid to late 90`s championships.

    1. What! I was just going to comment that I was offended he wasn't pictured as a Yankee!

  3. Won't comment on the playoff stuff... since I'm not really qualified. But I will say that I prefer to remember him with the Mets.

  4. Looking up his playoff numbers, he was better in October with the Yankees. I forgot how dominant he was in the '96 ALCS.

  5. I'm with Fuji on this one, for those great 1986 Mets home uniforms if nothing else.
